Why corporate travel in Japan requires a local edge
Japan is one of the world’s most rewarding places to do business, but it’s also one of the trickiest to navigate without local support. Language barriers aside, the business culture is rooted in unspoken norms: how meetings are structured, what counts as respectful communication, and how relationships are built over time.
Having someone on the ground who understands both sides makes all the difference
As your corporate travel manager, we handle more than just logistics. We make sure your team shows up prepared, on time, and culturally aligned, be it you’re here for meetings, networking, or planning around Osaka 2025.
And as business travel continues to evolve post-pandemic—with more hybrid trips, tighter schedules, and a growing need for adaptability—we take care of the details so your team can focus on the bigger picture.
Getting to the right location on time isn’t always straightforward
For visiting teams, that can lead to unexpected challenges. Booking venues or arranging site visits can require insider connections. Even small things—like knowing whether to bring business cards, or how to handle group introductions—can have an outsized impact.
Private drivers you can rely on
Every business trip deserves more than just a car and a GPS. Our drivers know the backstreets, the business districts, and how to navigate Japan’s unspoken rules of timing and etiquette. Vehicles are spacious, quiet, and set up for focus—not distraction—so you arrive ready, not rattled.
Sector-specific support
Healthcare & MedTech
Our background in science (TokudAw co-founder Wanping Aw holds a PhD in biomedical research) means we understand the expectations and rhythms of healthcare travel. We’ve supported medtech teams visiting hospitals, researchers meeting academic partners, and public health delegates attending conferences during Osaka’s Well Being and Japan Health weeks.
We can coordinate site visits, help with translation and scheduling, and make space for cultural downtime—whether that’s a hot spring soak or a visit to a town known for longevity research. It's practical, purposeful support rooted in familiarity with how the sector operates.
Technology & innovation
Tech teams often come to Japan with packed schedules and shifting priorities. We’ve helped clients plan around Smart City and STEAM theme weeks, organise visits to R&D labs, and meet with local startups in spaces that encourage open exchange.
Because things change quickly—especially for founders or product teams—we stay flexible. Need to reroute between Tokyo and Osaka? Add an extra meeting with a university contact? We'll handle it.
Creative & design industries
Creative professionals tend to value less structure, more access. We’ve built trips around textile studio visits, craft apprenticeships, and architecture walks, particularly during Expo’s Co-Creating Cultures week. Some teams are researching heritage techniques; others are looking for visual inspiration or new collaborators.
Our role is to help make those connections possible without crowding the experience with unnecessary logistics or tourist trap itineraries.
Put simply? We don’t overcomplicate things. You tell us what your team is here to do and we’ll help shape a corporate trip that makes it easier to do it.

Planning for Osaka 2025 & beyond
The lead-up to Expo 2025 is already shaping how companies approach business in Japan. With themed weeks covering everything from medtech to mobility, the Expo offers a rare chance to combine research, networking, and market exploration in one trip.
We help international teams plan around these opportunities—handling transport, meeting logistics, site visits, and downtime that fits your pace. For those extending their stay, nearby destinations like Kyoto, Nara, and Lake Biwa offer space to reflect and recharge.
If you’re organising business travel to Japan around the Expo, we’d be happy to help.
Corporate travel management case studies
Mastering HR culture in Japan
Singapore University – Business Faculty
A group of business students from Singapore came to Japan to learn how hiring and workplace culture really work here. We planned a multi-day itinerary that included visits to companies in Tokyo and Osaka, informal sessions with HR leaders, and a seminar led by a local cross-cultural expert. Each day built on the last, with time to reflect, ask questions, and draw connections. We handled all the scheduling, logistics, and language support so the students could wholeheartedly focus on the experience.
Early Childhood Education Delegation
Southeast Asian Ministry of Education
This government delegation wanted a closer look at Japan’s early years education system. We arranged nursery school visits, roundtable discussions with headteachers, and a policy briefing with a local education official. Alongside the formal sessions, we made space for quiet observations and casual conversations—like watching a morning routine unfold or chatting with teachers over lunch. We took care of transport, interpretation, and all the behind-the-scenes details so the group could engage fully with the experience.
Cross-Cultural Youth Exchange
Southeast Asia x Japan Fellowship
We supported a youth exchange programme that brought together young professionals from Southeast Asia and Japan for five days of shared learning. The schedule included co-led workshops, panel discussions, and cultural activities across Tokyo and Kyoto. Our role was to create the conditions for connection—handling everything from accommodation to group translation—so participants could focus on the people in front of them, not the logistics behind it.
